In the vineyards? – Lower Austria: Search for escaped prisoners continues

The alarm search in the Krems area for an escaped prisoner from Stein prison turned out negative on Wednesday evening, we reported. According to police, the 35-year-old Russian escaped during a visit to the hospital.

The 16-year-old inmate of the youth prison in Gerasdorf (Neunkirchen district), who met Wiener Neustadt during a hospital visit on Monday, is also still on the run.

According to police spokesman Stefan Loidl, the alarm search for the 35-year-old – who had previously served a prison sentence in Stein prison for, among other things, aggravated robbery – lasted until 9.45 pm on Tuesday.

Prisoner suspected in the vineyards
About 200 officers, helicopters, drones and assistance dogs were involved. The man fled shortly before 5:30 p.m. and was later suspected of being in the vineyards around Krems.

Videos of prisoners are circulating online
Apparently, new Instagram videos made the rounds on Tuesday of the inmates of the youth prison in Gerasdorf (Neunkirchen district) who escaped on Monday. The material is being investigated by the police. An alarm search for the 16-year-old Afghan at the beginning of this week also turned out negatively.
