Another child had to be rescued from a locked car because the key was left in the car. Within 24 hours, two small children were locked in cars in Flachgau (Salzburg).
On Wednesday afternoon, the Oberndorf volunteer fire brigade had to go to the church square to open a car. Inside was a baby and the key to the vehicle. The car was locked. Using a wire, firefighters were able to grab and remove the key through an opening above the driver’s door, unlocking the vehicle. The unharmed baby was quickly handed over to the mother.
Second incident
This was the second incident of the same type in just 24 hours. The day before, the ÖAMTC had to rescue a child from a car in Neumarkt am Wallersee. Here too, the key remained in the vehicle with the toddler. The door was blocked and the two-year-old boy had to be released.
