A truck loaded with explosives came from an access road to the Diabas quarry in Saalfelden (Salzburg) and fell into the Gröbenbach. Rescue workers are currently continuing to work intensively on the rescue work. Fortunately, there is no danger of explosion
The truck, loaded with 3.6 tons of explosives, left the road at the entrance and fell into the Gröbenbach. “Because the explosives and detonators were stored separately according to regulations, there was no risk of explosion,” said local fire chief Thomas Schreder.
Explosives secured
The driver was uninjured and was able to free himself. The explosives have been secured and the volunteer fire brigade is currently busy recovering them.
