At least seven people were injured in a collision between two trains in Bavaria on Friday. An ICE and a regional train ‘grazed’ each other at a switch at the train station in Reichertshausen, a police spokeswoman said.
The accident took place on the route between Munich and Ingolstadt at the Reichertshausen station (Germany). According to information from “Bild”, there were 450 passengers in the two trains that collided. It initially remained unclear whether one or both trains derailed. The railway line was completely closed at the scene of the accident.
Numerous police and rescue teams were on the scene. “There are currently seven people known to have minor injuries. The evacuation of the trains is currently underway. The passengers will be taken to the nearby Ilmtalhalle in Reichertshausen,” the Upper Bavarian police wrote on platform X (formerly Twitter) on Friday afternoon.

Health problem as the cause of the accident?
The passengers would be treated and cared for on site. After the lateral contact, both trains were on the tracks in the station area. Some Bundeswehr soldiers were said to have happened to be there and helped the people.
The possible cause of the accident was a health problem of a train driver. The man, who was slightly injured, told ‘Bild’: ‘I am currently in hospital, everything is running for me. I was blown away in the locker room.”
