Brazen robbery late Thursday afternoon in Rum in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land: a 16-year-old attacked a boy a year older than him and stole his jacket. The 17-year-old was lucky with adversity.
The attack took place at a bus stop on Serlessstrasse in Rum around 5:30 p.m. According to police, the 16-year-old Syrian hit the 17-year-old resident several times and threatened him. “The argument moved to a corridor where the Syrian attacked the Austrian again and took his jacket,” police said.
Suspect in police custody
The robbery victim was unharmed despite the assault and the boy reported the incident to the police. The officers then went to the home address of the suspected perpetrator and found him there. The 16-year-old was then taken to the police station. Further investigation into the circumstances of the crime is currently underway.
