Lara (11) found an elderly man lying on the sidewalk with his face covered in blood. The woman from Grödiger immediately recognized the dangerous situation, intervened courageously and without fear of contact and set the rescue chain in motion.
In early November, eleven-year-old Lara was cycling home from friends in Anif when she saw an older man lying on the path with his face covered in blood.
Had a serious fall while walking
He fell while walking with his partner and seriously injured his head. Lara immediately stopped and started the rescue chain without hesitation.
“I was so relieved when she stopped and offered to help us. Dusk had already fallen and a cold wind was blowing,” says Inge Z., the victim’s partner.
The student has now even been recognized by the Red Cross for her courageous efforts.
“It is normal to help others”
For Lara, the quick intervention came naturally: “I was quite excited because it was the first time I had to call the police to help someone. But for me it is actually very normal to help others,” said the student.
