Expert explains – Wrong click: can I be canceled now?

Office workers today are confronted with an endless stream of questionable emails. And it’s not always harmless spam; Junk messages often contain phishing links or malicious code. Anyone who clicks thoughtlessly could cause major damage to their business – and should be prepared for serious consequences.

If it were up to IT managers in Austria, the matter would be clear: if employees made mistakes that compromised IT security, 94 percent would impose sanctions on the employee. In the worst case, this could lead to dismissal. In a survey by IT security specialist Kaspersky, only six percent said employees did not have to fear any consequences. But what response is appropriate in an IT emergency? We asked an expert in the field of employment law.
