After reporting the enormous criticism from guardians of four children, the parent representative now speaks out and praises the teacher. She represents the family members of the other 14 children in the class. Descriptions of the riot families are said to be isolated cases taken out of context.
The battle for the education of children at the Litschau primary school in the Waldviertel is taking on drastic proportions. After a ‘Krone’ report about angry parents of four second-grade children who were extremely upset, Martina Hawlicek, who was chosen as spokesperson by the parents, is now speaking out and has a completely opposite opinion. She also represents the legal guardians of the remaining 14 children.
Montessori as a red rag…
But from the beginning: the angry parents complain about the teaching of a new teacher who succeeded the previous teacher. She was forcibly transferred, there are allegations of bullying and she is on sick leave. A red flag for parents is the Montessori approach and its effects on the children, which they describe as: sleeping in class, hitting each other and not learning anything.
Parent representative: “We are happy with the new teacher”
Hawlicek emphasizes that these claims are based on individual cases taken out of context: a sick child waiting for his mother was simply sleeping. “The new teacher motivates the children to become more independent and arouses interest. “It hasn’t always been like this,” says the spokeswoman and also has some advice for angry parents who want to transfer their children to the neighboring school: “They all have family there – just register their place of residence there!”
