The unions are waiting for information on “what is the company’s plan, what is its viability, whether or not they will continue to focus on Navarre and what will happen with the aid packages”, which should be linked to employment.
The Siemens Gamesa works council has expressed confidence in the meetings that the social representation and the Spanish and Navarrese governments hold with the company’s management, although it has been “cautious” about the outcome of these contacts.
Loli Herrera, member of the works council of Gamesa and the union department UGT at Siemens Energy, told the media last Tuesday that she was waiting for the company management to appear, but “to our surprise, she noticed virtually nothing”, apart from a cutback of 400 million euros and a roadmap with restructuring.
Herrera, who recalled that the Navarrese Minister of Industry, Mikel Irujo, will have a new meeting this Friday with the CEO of Siemens Gamesa, noted that the unions trust “that all the efforts made by all parties will ultimately be reflected in an agreement it links employment with the Community and with the work centers we have in Spain.”
