Spectacular accident Monday morning in Going am Wilden Kaiser in the Tiroler Unterland: A 19-year-old Bosnian came off the road with a company car and collided with a concrete barrier, literally lifting the car, catapulting it through the air and eventually landing on its roof to a stop.
The accident happened around 7 a.m.: The 19-year-old was driving the company car from St. Johann on the B178 Loferer Straße in the direction of Wörgl when, for unknown reasons, he went over the edge of the road at Going. The car crashed into a concrete guardrail.
Accident witness raised the alarm
The force of the impact catapulted the car through the air before coming to a stop on the roof about 100 feet further down the middle of the road. A witness to the accident immediately set the rescue chain in motion.
The 19-year-old driver escaped with minor injuries. He was taken by the rescue team to the hospital in St. Johann in Tirol.
