On Friday evening, a truck skidded on the Tauernautobahn (A10) in the municipality of St. Michael im Lungau (Salzburg) shortly after the Katschberg tunnel.
A 24-year-old Serbian driver lost control of his truck shortly after 10 p.m. After leaving the Katschberg tunnel, the tractor-trailer swerved to the right of the A10, damaged a guardrail and spun around its own axis. The truck and trailer blocked the entire lane towards Salzburg.
Diesel tanks damaged
Both diesel tanks of the truck were damaged in the accident. The St. Michael/Lungau fire brigade had to pack 400 liters of diesel and call in a towing company to park the truck safely. The A10 was closed to traffic until shortly after midnight.
