On Saturday evening, a disco visitor (24) in Vienna-Favoriten caused a major police operation. The strange reason: He mistook a flashing red light in the club’s restroom for a bomb.
According to police spokesman Mattias Schuster, the young man said in an emergency call around 2:45 a.m. that there was a bomb in the club. With the help of someone with knowledge of explosives, the disco was searched, but nothing was found.
Complaint for false pretenses
The 24-year-old, who was clearly drunk, said he saw the light in the toilet, called the police and went home. It is said that he slurred into the phone rather indistinctly. The police have filed a report for falsifying an act that can be punished.
