An explosion at a restaurant in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, left two people dead and 120 injured on Monday. There are 64 people with minor injuries and 56 people with moderate injuries, police said. The facades of six buildings were damaged.
A witness told the National Newspaper that he heard two explosions around noon. The second bang was very loud, the windows shook and broke in some buildings.
Authorities declined to comment on the incidents. In the United Arab Emirates, however, there has been a heightened state of alert since a drone and missile strike by Yemeni rebels on January 17 killed three oil workers in Abu Dhabi.
