“Our greatest wish is that we get our ‘Smokey’ back,” says Franziska Stauber from Vienna, hoping for a Christmas miracle. Her cat disappeared without a trace more than two weeks ago. The family fears that the pedigree cat could have been stolen – and is now offering a finder’s fee of 1,000 euros.
On November 16, the Stauber family, who live in the allotment area on the Heuberg in Hernals, saw “Smokey” for the last time. “I immediately started looking and distributed flyers and hung up posters everywhere,” the mother of two tells krone.at.
Garages and cellars searched
The family quickly offered a finder’s fee of 300 euros so they could quickly embrace the beloved cat, which their daughter received as a gift when she went to school four years ago. But no.
All surrounding garages and cellars were searched. “I have also informed the forestry office in case he is found lifeless in the forest,” says the desperate cat owner, who is only hoping for certainty.
Because there is no trace left of the extremely loyal and voracious tomcat, Stauber fears the worst: “He is a purebred cat. They cost between 600 and 1000 euros. We now fear that someone has stolen it.”
To convince a possible perpetrator to hand over “Smokey,” the family even increased the finder’s fee to as much as 1,000 euros. “Please buy yourself a new kitten and please give me back my ‘Smokey’!” says Stauber, who does not give up hope: “This year we only have one big Christmas wish, and that is to find ‘Smokey’.”
If you see “Smokey” or have any information about his whereabouts, please contact Franziska Stauber on 06766903398.
