Visitors to the Vorarlberg cult nightclub “Conrad Sohm” experienced a huge shock that night. Around 4am on Saturday, a large landslide started about 150 meters above the Boden plot in Dornbirn. The soil and trees displaced the nightclub parking lot, a bridge and parts of a road. 91 visitors were locked up in the “Sohm” for hours.
According to the city, there was no danger to them. However, the evacuation work took hours, because evacuation was only possible with safe passage across the parking lot and the bridge. During this time, operations management was in constant contact with the people. The partygoers were eventually rescued around 8:40 am.
Major surgery
The fire brigade, police, flash and avalanche control teams were on site, as was Deputy Mayor Julian Fässler. The operation was coordinated through the city government. The situation must now be assessed by the landing geologist.

More than 75 liters of rainfall fell in the Dornbirn region in the past 72 hours. Last night the persistent rain turned into snowfall at low altitudes.
