A court in the Iranian capital Tehran has sentenced a 48-year-old father to death for repeatedly raping his daughter. The man is said to have raped his now 14-year-old daughter several times between 2019 and 2023.
Since the death sentence has already been confirmed by the Supreme Court, the execution will take place soon, the news portal ‘Khabar-Online’ reported on Saturday.
Uncle alerted the police
According to the report, neither the stepmother nor other family members initially wanted to believe the girl’s information. He then secretly filmed the attacks. An uncle then alerted the police.
In Iran, the death penalty is imposed for, among other things, murder, rape, armed robbery and serious drug trafficking.
