Depending on the agreement, it will be taxed from 12.8 million euros at 2% in Bizkaia and 2.5% in Gipuzkoa and Araba, and from 14.5 million euros at the highest rate of 3.5% in the three areas.
The general coordinator of Podemos Euskadi, Pilar gracefulhas announced that his training has reached a agreement with PNV and PSE-EE to support the application in the three Basque areas of what is known as tax on large fortunes in such a way that “there will be more taxpayers and more will be collected.”
Depending on the agreement, from the 12.8 million euros It will be taxed at 2% in Bizkaia and 2.5% in Gipuzkoa and Araba, and from 14.5 million the highest rate of 3.5% will be applied in the three areas. Elkarrekin has managed to bring the tax “closer to the spirit of the state tax, which means nothing more than everyone contributing to the state treasury according to their ability, in order to achieve a more supportive, less unequal and more just society.”
The agreement was explained this morning during a press conference in which they participated David Soto (Organizational Secretary of Podemos Euskadi), Arantza González (coordinator of Ezker Anitza-IU of Gipuzkoa), Eneritz de Madariaga (spokesperson of Elkarrekin in the General Assemblies of Bizkaia) and Carmen Muñoz (co-spokesperson of Berdeak Equo).
In an interview with Radio Euskadi, Garrido referred to the so-called temporary solidarity tax on large fortunes which, as he announced, will be taxed for the purposes of the year 2023.
“We have achieved improve conditions of a tax that Podemos put on the table in the state, which we fought a lot against and which could not be abolished in Euskadi,” he indicated, adding that “promoting tax justice is very important.”
As he has defended, it was an “essential condition” for Podemos that the tax would be applied in the United States three territories from that same year in such a way that “those who have great fortunes in Euskadi will contribute to the maintenance of what is common.”
In this context, and after warning that “the important things in this country are carried out by the PNV”, Garrido has assessed that thanks to Podemos’ proposals “rates increasedthere will be more taxpayers and it goes to increase more“, although “not all he would have wanted” was his education.
