Defibrillators save two lives at the Valencia Marathon

This is the seventh year that Proyecto +Vida is dedicated to supporting cardioprotection providing defibrillators to deal with any possible disaster of more than 33,000 registered along with a large medical equipment consisting of 30 career doctors, 15 ambulances and field hospitals, 65 specialist nurses mainly from ICU and Anesthesia and 150 health volunteers.

According to Nuño Azcona, CEO of Almas, Having defibrillators at these types of events is essentialboth for the large number of participants and the public and for the physical effort it represents.

“It must be considered that, in the event of a cardiac arrest, action must be taken in less than five minutes to save the victim’s life. Proyecto+Vida’s commitment is not only to provide defibrillators for sporting events, but also to raise awareness about cardiac arrest, because 90% of cardiac arrests can be reversed by people trained in CPR and use of defibrillators” he explained.
