From Yemen – Houthi rebels fired rockets at Israel

Date:

Yemen’s Shiite Houthi rebels say they have fired “a payload of ballistic missiles” at Israel.

The Iranian-backed rebels said Wednesday evening that the target was several military targets in southern Israel. The attacks “against the Israeli enemy” would continue “until the aggression against our brothers in Gaza ends,” the report said.

Israeli ships would also not be allowed to sail in the Red Sea for that long. The Israeli army announced around noon that it had intercepted another surface-to-surface missile in the Red Sea area. The military said the rocket did not enter Israeli territory and posed no threat to civilians.

The US Navy reports that a drone has been shot down
The US Navy had previously reported that it had shot down a drone. This started in a region controlled by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, a US military representative said on Wednesday.

Houthi rebels repeatedly attack Israel
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war, the Houthi rebels have repeatedly attacked Israel with, among other things, drones and rockets. Recently they had also attacked merchant ships in the Red Sea several times. They had threatened to attack all ships linked to Israel. The Houthis have significantly expanded their arsenal in recent years.
