Wild scenes took place in an apartment in Vienna-Meidling on Wednesday afternoon. A 34 year old was completely drunk and attacked his own parents.
According to the police, it is still completely unclear why the suspect threatened to kill his parents and then attacked them.
Father choked on scarf
His father (72) tried to calm him down, but without success. Suddenly, the 34-year-old grabbed a scarf and strangled his father with it. He then pulled a knife and wounded his mother (72) in the neck. Concerned neighbors immediately alerted the police.
Five per mille on an alcohol test
When police arrived, they were able to arrest the 34-year-old. An entry and approach ban and a temporary weapons ban were issued against him. His parents refused to alert the emergency services.
The suspect turned out to have no fewer than five per thousand. Depending on body weight and constitution, a blood alcohol concentration of three per mille or more can be life-threatening for inexperienced drinkers.
