In the first week of December, numerous cemeteries were closed because the risk of breaking trees and branches due to the heavy snow load was too great. However, it wasn’t just visitors who had to stay outside: some ‘regulars’ also had to wait a little longer before the eternal rest began.
“Three of the four cemeteries of Linz AG are now fully accessible again,” said Susanne Gillhofer of Linz AG when asked by “Krone”. Currently, only the St. Martin cemetery is partially closed to visitors, the two urn forests Urfahr and Kleinmünchen and the Pöstlingberg mountain cemetery are already fully open again.
“Due to the dangerous snow conditions, several more funerals had to be postponed,” Gillhofer said. New dates have been chosen in close consultation with the relatives to guarantee a safe farewell.
