A Tunisian (18) suspected of threatening and robbing a Syrian (18) in the Volksgarten in Graz in November has now been arrested by investigators. He didn’t confess.
According to the victim, an 18-year-old Syrian, the crime took place late in the evening of November 30. The suspect (18) forced his victim to hand over cash and his mobile phone while holding a knife. The Syrian, who was unharmed, reported the incident to Lend police station shortly afterwards.
Suspect examined
Detectives from Graz managed to track down the suspect in cooperation with the Lend police station. The Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the arrest on suspicion of aggravated robbery. Detectives, along with the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG), executed this warrant on Sunday. The suspect was arrested without resistance in a restaurant on Keplerstrasse.
Admission to prison
The arrested person is in an ongoing asylum procedure. He was taken to Graz-Jakomini prison. At the moment he is not admitting the facts.
