Exciting second day at “Hackathon – The Crown”. On Tuesday, the individual teams consisting of teenagers and young professionals from different disciplines had to shape their ideas and projects in order to revolutionize the ‘Krone’ and perhaps the media world of the future. The appropriate motto of the day: “Revolutionizing ideas”!
Until Wednesday, several dozen young and talented people will sit together in the Square One co-working space in the north of Vienna to shape ideas for the transformation of the “Krone”.
Media professionals from “Krone” offer exciting insights
What short-term adjustments are possible and necessary to make Krone’s subscription models more attractive? What paid content works and why? What challenges are associated with mandatory registration and behind-the-paywall content? On the second day of the competition, Michael Pichler, head of the Kronen Zeitung and project manager of the KronePLUS team, answered questions from the participants.
The experienced media professional provided exciting insights into the daily work of the KronePLUS team and an overview of the different subscription models of “Krone” and the media industry in general.
The right channels for the young target group
Editor Jennifer Kapellari then spoke about how content should be prepared and which channels should be used so that this content appeals to a young target group and is therefore consumed. In the impulse ‘How to do Krone’, the Carinthian provided insight into the structure of the successful TikTok channel ‘Krone’ and explained the importance of social media for today’s classic media. And she revealed what the term ‘influencer journalism’ is all about and what opportunities it offers for traditional media.
After an introductory round by the mentors, who are there to support the participants in their work, it was time on Tuesday for the individual teams to shape their ideas and projects and thus revolutionize the ‘Krone’ and perhaps the media world of the future. Win up to 3000 euros!
At the end of the 48 hours, the teams will present their solutions for the media industry of the future on Wednesday. And because good ideas and hard work should not go unrewarded, a jury of experts will select the best contribution after all contributions have been presented and reward it with 3,000 euros! But even if a team doesn’t reach 1st place, theHackathon – De Kroon“not empty. The second or third placed teams will also each receive a prize of 2000 or 1000 euros.
