In the autumn, the French highest health authority recommended a booster vaccination against the corona virus for patients at risk and people over 65. A corresponding vaccination campaign must be prepared, the authority said on Wednesday. In patients at risk, the environment should also be given a different dose. Those who have received all vaccinations from this group so far could already receive their fifth vaccination dose against Corona in the fall.
Despite the currently stable corona situation, the government assumes that the virus will periodically return to circulation. The most likely scenario is one where the virus remains active but has less impact through adequate immunization. But you also have to be prepared for a worse scenario and then be able to offer a large-scale vaccination campaign.
The health authority cannot make political decisions. As a rule, however, the government follows its recommendations.
