Major operation in the Mödling district (Lower Austria) in the early morning hours on Wednesday: Four people – two men and two women – are said to have been victims of a home burglary. According to information from “Krone”, two residents were slightly injured and the perpetrators are on the run.
According to the Lower Austrian State Police, the terrible incident took place around 4:30 am in Hinterbrühl. Unknown perpetrators are said to have climbed over the fence of a house and stolen tools from a shed and then entered the house through a window.
Resident wanted to ask neighbors for help
According to initial findings, a resident (66) woke up from the sound of the burglars. When he opened the front door to ask a neighbor for help, he was suddenly surprised by the strangers. The two perpetrators are said to be masked and armed with pistols. The 66-year-old was pushed on his side by the burglars and was injured.
When searching the affected apartment, the perpetrators also encountered an elderly pensioner (95) and a 46-year-old woman. The 46-year-old also fell victim to the burglars and was injured in the attack. The two men then allegedly asked the victims to give them cash, the police reported on Thursday. A third unknown perpetrator is also said to have been near the house during the crime.
Resident threatened with weapon by perpetrator
The noise woke up another resident of the house. When he wanted to see what was going on in the house, one of the perpetrators threatened him with a firearm. “The two unknown perpetrators stole valuables and fled in an unknown direction,” police said.
