Lufthansa and its subsidiaries Swiss and Austrian Airlines (AUA) will fly to Israel again from January 8. According to its own statement, Lufthansa’s Austrian subsidiary will offer eight connections per week at Tel Aviv airport in the first phase.
The exact flight schedule will be published on Monday, December 18. Safety is “always the top priority” for Lufthansa Group airlines, the report said. The situation will be closely monitored and the company is also in close contact with local and international authorities. Possible adjustments to the flight plan should therefore be expected in the future. That depends on the circumstances, which are constantly changing.
Eight weekly AUA connections to Tel Aviv Airport are planned, as well as seven Lufthansa flights (four from Frankfurt, three from Munich) and five Swiss flights per week. The industry giant announced this in a press release on Friday. The flights to Israel would make up about 30 percent of the regular flight schedule, and will use Airbus A320s.
Flights to Lebanon have resumed
The flights were suspended on October 9, shortly after Hamas attacked Israel. The also suspended flights to Lebanon were resumed on Friday by Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings.
