The 47-year-old Croat suspected of stabbing a former colleague at a company Christmas party in Vienna on Friday has been arrested. The man denies the knife attack.
As reported, there was an argument between the 47-year-old former employee and several guests at a party at a painting company in the Landstrasse district. The Croat is said to have stabbed a 43-year-old with a knife.
The 43-year-old suffered multiple stitches to his upper body and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The 47-year-old fled. Through intensive investigation, officers of the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department managed to arrest the suspect in an apartment in the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district.
WEGA stormed the apartment
Because the man did not open the door voluntarily, WEGA was alerted for help. The apartment, where the Croat was not registered, was then stormed and the suspect was arrested.
During his interrogation he stated that he had only defended himself against several people. He didn’t use a knife. The investigators were able to confiscate bloody clothing. The murder weapon has not yet been found.
