Multiple accidents in Lower Austria – girl (9) seriously injured after collision

A nine-year-old child was seriously injured in a collision on the A1 in Lower Austria on Monday and had to be flown to hospital by emergency helicopter. There were also injuries in two other accidents.

According to the management’s press release, a 34-year-old driver from the St. Pölten district was driving with her daughter (9) on the A1 near Altlengbach towards Vienna. The car may have been delayed due to a technical defect. A 45-year-old driver, who was also driving in the direction of Vienna, was no longer able to avoid a rear-end collision. The woman’s car skidded. As a result, a small truck collided head-on with the car.

The driver’s nine-year-old daughter was in the backseat. She suffered serious injuries in the collision and had to be flown by emergency helicopter to the Vienna-Donaustadt clinic. The 45-year-old driver was also injured in the accident. The A1 was temporarily closed.

Motorcyclist seriously injured
In Lanzenkirchen in the Wiener Neustadt district, a motorcyclist (30) was taken to the Wiener Neustadt State Hospital with serious injuries on Monday afternoon after a collision with a bus. The driver (52) of the bus was not injured. Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus.

According to police, the 52-year-old may have overlooked the motorcyclist coming from the right and entered an intersection due to the low sun.

Passerby hit by car
Another accident occurred early Monday evening in the open area of ​​Hollabrunn. A 20-year-old passerby was hit by a car and thrown into a field. The woman was seriously injured and had to be transported to Horn State Hospital. According to the Lower Austria State Police Directorate, the 37-year-old driver in the accident may have overlooked the woman, dressed in dark clothing.
