After weeks of negotiations, the Vienna Medical Association was finally able to reach an agreement with the health insurer. Therefore, there should be a 10 percent rate increase in the future.
The result includes all subjects (excluding medical and chemical laboratory diagnostics and physical medicine and rehabilitation). In addition, contracted doctors from the specialist groups mentioned will receive a fee surcharge of 7.1 percent for 2023.
The majority voted for it
The outcome of the negotiations was approved by a clear majority at the meeting of local doctors of the Vienna Medical Association on Monday.
Vice President is satisfied
The outcome after “weeks of negotiations at any time of the day or night” has created a “solid foundation” for the private sector, the Vice President and Curia Chairman of the Resident Doctors of the Vienna Medical Association emphasized in a broadcast on Tuesday. The outcome of the negotiations will also benefit patients, Kamaleyan-Schmied said.
The chairman of the Medical Association of Vienna and the Austrian Medical Association (ÖÄK), Johannes Steinhart, also praised the negotiation result as “excellent”. Steinhart saw it as proof that the Vienna Medical Association, which had been in the spotlight for several months due to internal quarrels, was “fully fulfilling its duties.”
Further negotiations planned
In order to quickly reach agreement on a KV agreement for employees in medical practices after the successful outcome of the negotiations, a negotiation date with the GPA will take place this week.
