Previously unknown perpetrators looted several bank vaults in Baden and Ebreichsdorf (Baden district) in Lower Austria. The police are looking for the trio.
Since the beginning of December, the gang is said to have rented safes from the affected banks in Baden and Ebreichsdorf on presentation of false Czech IDs. The first coup took place on Tuesday morning around 10:25 am. Two unknown people pretended to have left items in her locker. Inside the safe, they used the tools they brought with them to break open several safes and loot valuables stored there. According to the police, the third accomplice was said to have been standing in front of the bank during the operation.
Second coup with the same stitch
The trio then went to a bank in Ebreichsdorf. Under the same pretext as at the bank in Baden, the perpetrators entered the vault, where they again broke open safes and stole valuables.
How much the unknown people stole is currently unknown. The official act was taken over by the Lower Austrian State Police, the theft investigation area and the crime scene assistance area.
The coup at an ATM in the Weinviertel fails
Major police operation in Schrattenberg in the Mistelbach district: On Wednesday evening, unknown people tried to crack the ATM in the local financial institution. However, the perpetrators failed and ultimately fled without any loot. Since ATMs are often blown up in such coups, the executive branch has asked the Defense Department to ensure the safety of investigators on the ground.
