Large-scale rescue operation in Pischelsdorf (Styria): Four people were injured in a traffic accident on Friday afternoon. The person suspected of causing the accident was heavily intoxicated.
A 23-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district was driving his car on the B 54 around 3:30 p.m. In the municipality of Pischelsdorf, the man crossed halfway through the road, probably because he was drunk, and collided with the oncoming car of a 61 year old from the Weiz district. His car overturned, injuring the 61-year-old and his wife (62, Weiz district) to an unspecified degree. The two people were taken to the LKH Hartberg.
The 23-year-old’s car then collided with another oncoming car, driven by a 34-year-old from the Weiz district. The 34-year-old was injured to an unspecified degree and also had to be taken to LKH Hartberg.
Breathalyzer: Driver was very drunk
The person suspected of causing the accident was also injured and required hospital treatment. An alcohol test showed that there was serious intoxication, after which the three vehicles involved were added up. The B 54 was closed to all traffic until shortly after 5 p.m. and a diversion was put in place. The Pischelsdorf fire brigade was on duty with four vehicles and 28 men.
