“The fact that the woman is still alive is thanks to several guardian angels,” says state police director Andreas Pilsl about the witnesses who came to the aid of a Syrian woman (41) in Linz when her husband (52) stood over her. bloodthirsty and opened it with a Stanley knife that she stabbed, for an award from the Federal President.
Among them, a nurse who “jumped into the Syrian’s back” and Abbot Reinhold Dessl, who passed and stopped at the crime scene on the B 129 – see interview below. “As helpers were threatened with a knife, an investigation into attempted murder and dangerous threats is underway,” explains prosecutor Ulrike Breiteneder.
Sting bounced off the larynx
It’s a miracle the 42-year-old is still alive. The second sting bounced off the larynx and continued up the spine. The couple’s twins (11) were at home at the time of the crime. The motive: Her husband, unwilling to remember the crime, wanted to see the cell phone because the woman was texting another man.
„krone“:Mr Abt, you witnessed a bloody crime in Linz on Monday. What happened?
Abbot Reinhold Dessl:At first I thought it was a fight, then I saw the man stabbing the woman over and over.
What did you do then?
I just got out of the car, as did some of the other witnesses, and I tried to get the man away from the woman. But he always threatened with the knife. The great heroine was a passerby who kicked and punched the man, probably saving the woman.
What happened then?
Heaven really was in charge, because an ambulance happened to pass by. We stopped, the paramedics called the police, who quickly came and arrested the man who did not resist. Almost simultaneously a doctor came by and treated the woman immediately. She was seriously injured and lost a lot of blood.
Have you hesitated or been afraid?
I reacted reflexively and didn’t think long. And then it all happened so fast.
Do you feel like a hero?
no Like I said, the real heroine was the woman (note: this is a nurse who wishes to remain anonymous) who was so incredibly brave and chased the man away.
