Unusually high temperatures are expected in Greece for the next few days in May. As the Meteorological Bureau announced on Thursday, the thermometer should read readings around 37 degrees, especially in western and central Greece. Doctors warn tourists from the north of the high temperatures.
Also on the islands of the Aegean Sea, around 35 degrees is expected. The mini heat wave is expected to last into the weekend. After that, temperatures will drop to seasonally normal levels of about 30 degrees, meteorologists said.
It is better to avoid alcohol
Doctors on the radio advised wearing loose, light-colored cotton clothing, drinking plenty of water, and not drinking alcohol or sugary drinks. This is especially true for tourists from Northern Europe, whose bodies need a few days to adjust to the temperatures.
