Attack on civilians – Russians shoot at evacuation train in Kherson

While 140 people in Kherson waited for an evacuation train to depart on St. Stephen’s Day, the train station was hit by Russian missiles. A police officer lost his life in the shelling and other people, including civilians, were injured.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Kherson train station was attacked shortly before the scheduled departure. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko added that a police officer was killed and four other people were injured in the shelling. Police brought about 140 civilians waiting at the train station to safety.

The city was “bombarded extensively” on Tuesday evening as civilians tried to flee to safety.

Civilians were also injured by shrapnel
Two other police officers and two civilians were ultimately injured by shrapnel. All emergency services were in action. According to the Ukrainian railway company Ukrzalisnytsya, the station and the evacuation train were damaged. However, the railway line is still passable.

Kiev: 32 of 46 Russian drones shot down
There were several waves of drone attacks on Wednesday evening, Kiev announced. As the Ukrainian Air Force announced on the short message service Telegram, 32 of the total 46 drones were shot down. Most of the drones that could not be shot down hit frontline areas, especially in the southern Kherson region.
