Police discovered approximately 198 kilograms of illegal pyrotechnic objects during a check at the Laa an der Thaya border crossing in the Mistelbach district of Lower Austria on Tuesday evening. The four Slovak prisoners were reported.
A few days before New Year’s Eve it happened again. Employees of the Laa an der Thaya police station have seized kilos of illegal fireworks at the Laa an der Thaya border crossing.
During the check, the police initially noticed a large amount of fireworks in the back seat. The four occupants voluntarily allowed the officers to search the car, during which more items were discovered. The majority of these had false CE markings, the director announced in a press release. In addition, the items were identified as category F3, which requires specialist knowledge, or there was no description in German.

The four Slovak prisoners, aged 18, 21, 26 and 42, were reported to the district administration in accordance with the Pyrotechnics Act. In addition, a deposit was collected from everyone.
