Driving under the influence of more than 3 per mille kept the police on their toes during Christmas

Date:

During the Christmas holidays in Fieberbrunn in Tyrol (Kitzbühel district), the police had to deal with a driver who was particularly unreasonable when it came to alcohol: on December 24 and on Christmas Day, the officers arrested a 36-year-old Hungarian man, both times he had more than three per mille of alcohol in his blood.

The man was always found in his vehicle; the second time he was sleeping in the driver’s seat with the engine running. The Hungarian also did not have a driver’s license – this had previously been revoked from him by the Kitzbühel district administration.

Further travel is prohibited on the first day
The man was first ‘noticed’ by the director on the afternoon of December 24. The officials had previously received a corresponding message. The affected car also had damage to the front of the car. Officers eventually found the man sitting in his car. They ran a check and discovered he was extremely drunk. The 36-year-old could not provide precise information about the cause of the damage to the car. He was subsequently forbidden to continue his journey.

License plate and keys are gone
But the next operation finally took place in the afternoon of the next day: after a tip-off, the police officers encountered the same man again. They found him asleep in the driver’s seat with the engine running, again with more than three per mille of alcohol in his blood. Once again the Hungarian was forbidden to drive any further; this time the officers also took his car keys. In addition, the 36-year-old is now getting rid of his license plates due to a lack of road and business safety.
