A car and a pedestrian collided in southern Styria on Saturday evening. The 60-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured.
Around 7:30 p.m., a 19-year-old from the Deutschlandsberg district drove his car on the B76 from Steyeregg towards Wies (Deutschlandsberg district). According to his own statement, the motorist only noticed the man, who was walking on the B76 towards Steyeregg, at the last moment. He tried to avoid it, but a collision occurred.
The 60-year-old pedestrian was thrown against the windshield and ended up in the ditch a few meters away.
A passerby rushed to the victim’s aid
An eyewitness attempted to resuscitate the victim. However, the emergency doctor could only determine that the pedestrian was dead, the Styrian state police announced on Sunday.
