One person was killed and one seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars near Wiener Neustadt on Friday evening.
According to police, a 34-year-old driver drove his car into the opposite lane on the B21 for an unknown reason and collided with the vehicle of a 46-year-old. The 34-year-old was pulled out of the car by a passing rescue team and resuscitated, but died at the scene of the accident, the fire brigade reports.
The second driver had to be freed from the car by the fire brigade. The 46-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Contrary to a statement from the fire brigade, no other injuries were reported in the accident, police said in response to an APA request.
