Police action – Drunken man interfered with Samaritans who were providing assistance

On Saturday at 4:30 p.m., a police patrol drove to a parking lot in Linz – Neue Heimat to ask an on-duty crew from the Samaritan Association for possible support.

“Something is brewing!”
At that moment, the police were approached by a passerby who said there was a fight going on in a bar. Police then entered the premises and were immediately asked by a Samaritan Association paramedic to help them keep onlookers at bay. At the scene, the patrol found several drunk people, including the ambulance crew.

A friend of the injured continued to get involved. . .
The patrol asked people to move away from the location. In particular, the girlfriend of the 22-year-old injured woman from Linz, a 41-year-old from the Linz-Land district, massively disrupted the operation and constantly interfered with the work of the employees of the Samaritan Association, although they could only offer their help continue to a limited extent.

. . . and threatened the officers
After being warned several times by a police officer to stop his disruptive behavior, the 41-year-old threatened the officer. After this threat, the patrol asked for help. Meanwhile, the suspect continued his unruly behavior. When the second patrol arrived, the 41-year-old was still behaving extremely aggressively, shouting loudly and making violent gestures with his arms.

Restrained with handcuffs and ankle cuffs
Due to the man’s increasing aggression, the police took him to the ground and secured him to the ground with hand and ankle cuffs. Two police officers were slightly injured. The 41-year-old was taken to the police station.
