The start of the big New Year’s Eve spectacle of Ivents-Kulturaagentur and “Krone” in the center of Graz was a success! After a flawless dress rehearsal on Saturday, the first of a total of five show blocks took place in the heart of Styria’s capital on New Year’s Eve without any whoops.
In front of the harmonious setting of the Graz Town Hall, countless visitors gathered in the evening so as not to miss the beginning of the “first part” entitled “Musical on fire”.
40 meter high fountains
At 5:30 PM sharp the time had come! Instead of a fireworks display of noise and black powder, there was an intoxicating composition of water, fire, lasers and light. The musical performance was dedicated to the greatest musical hits and ranged from Hair to The Rocky Horror Picture Show to The Lion King.
The performance was exciting and moving, the joy of the unusual performance was written on the faces of both small and large viewers.
Alternative to banging
The New Year’s Eve spectacle of Ivents-Kulturaagentur and “Krone” has become a tradition in Graz and is becoming increasingly popular every year. “The show is unique in Austria. We also want to be a role model,” says organizer Markus Lientscher.
