The serious accident happened shortly after 2 p.m. The 72-year-old was driving her car in Oberlienz on Felbertauernstraße towards Lienz. “For an unknown reason, the driver drove the vehicle over the right edge of the road and turned the steering wheel,” police said.

She then went over the left edge of the road and crashed into an embankment. “As a result, the car flipped over and landed on its roof.” The elderly person suffered serious injuries in the accident. Her 67-year-old passenger was lucky and suffered only minor injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to Lienz Hospital. The car was severely damaged.
