A tragic accident occurred near Millstatt in Carinthia on Tuesday afternoon. An 86-year-old driver died in a car accident.
The man from the Spittal/Drau district drove his car on Obermillstätter Straße (L17a) towards Millstatt. For an unknown reason, he drove straight into a parking lot on a right bend and then crashed his car over a seven-meter high embankment wall at the end of the parking lot.
The car fell onto the municipal road below and came to a stop on its roof. A passerby alerted the emergency services. When emergency services arrived, the 86-year-old was unconscious and trapped in the badly damaged vehicle. Unfortunately, the emergency doctor could only determine that the man was dead.
