Flown to hospital – ladder falls: victim (54) rescued from roof by helicopter

While sweeping the photovoltaic system, a 54-year-old fell from the ladder in the St. Veit an der Glan district (Carinthia) and hit the roof of his house. The unconscious victim was rescued with a rope.

Tragic accident in the St. Veit an der Glan district: A 57-year-old was just clearing the snow from his house’s photovoltaic system on Wednesday morning when, for unknown reasons, he suddenly lost his balance while turning around and fell backwards from the leaning ladder.

Injuries of an undetermined nature
The man fell three meters in front of a family member, hit the flat roof and lost consciousness. After the alerted medical team provided first aid, the victim was rescued with a rope by the rescue helicopter Alpin 1 and flown to the Klagenfurt clinic with undetermined injuries.
