The public prosecutor’s office in Ried im Innkreis has filed murder charges against a 24-year-old nurse who allegedly stabbed an 82-year-old man she was caring for on October 5, 2023 in Geretsberg (Braunau district). In addition, placement in a forensic psychiatric center was also requested.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the nurse from Slovakia, who identifies as transgender and wants to be seen as a woman, made an “actual murder confession” during her first interrogation. She allegedly claimed she took a knife from the kitchen and killed the pensioner.
Teasing as a motive
She apparently cited teasing the victim about her sexual orientation as a motive. According to a psychiatric report, the suspect was mentally healthy at the time of the crime, but had several behavioral problems. That is why a request for admission has been filed in addition to the murder charge. A trial date has not yet been set.
