The Ukrainian army said it overnight destroyed a Russian command point at Saky airport on the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed by Moscow.
“Saky Airport: All targets have been shot down,” Air Force Chief Mykola Oleshchuk said on Saturday, according to Ukrainian media reports.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that four Ukrainian missiles were shot down by its own air defense system in Crimea during the night.
However, in the past, Ukraine has managed several times – despite initial reports from Moscow to the contrary – to attack, damage or even destroy Russian military objects. For example, Ukraine has hit Russia’s Black Sea Fleet base in Crimea with missiles.
The Russian military is making extensive use of drones in its war against Ukraine. Iranian Shahed drones are often used, which are manufactured relatively cheaply.
By 2030, Russia wants to produce more than 32,000 drones per year. That is almost three times the current production volume
