Two people fell from their car ten meters into Lake Como in northern Italy and died. The 45-year-old woman and the 38-year-old man could only be pulled dead from the water on Sunday.
A man (38) and a woman (45) were sitting in their car at a lookout point over the lake on Saturday evening. According to an eyewitness, the SUV suddenly started moving, broke through a barrier and fell about ten meters into the water. It is currently unclear why.
Strong gusts of wind cause accident?
Both could only be pulled dead from the water on Sunday. According to initial information, the fatalities are Italians. At the time of the fall, there were strong gusts of wind at the accident site.
Rescuers began searching for the car’s occupants that night, but had to call off the operation. Divers recovered the two bodies this morning.
