Both convoys therefore leave for Plentzia at 5:45 am and four minutes later, at 5:49 am, for Kabiezes. In addition, from January 13, the frequency between 1:50 PM and 2:30 PM will be increased.
Metro Bilbao will advance the departure time of the first two trains from Etxebarri to Plentzia and Kabiezes, and will increase frequencies during working lunches from January 13.
In concrete terms, the first trains leave Etxebarri at 5:45 am for Plentzia and four minutes later, at 5:49 am, for Kabiezes.
In addition, the frequency between 1:50 PM and 2:30 PM will be increased, from the current three minutes to two and a half minutes, from January 13. With this increase, the afternoon frequencies – between 1:50 PM and 2:30 PM – are equated with those in the early morning hours, a period that is considered the peak of the day.
In a statement, Metro Bilbao said the recovery of travel habits after the pandemic has led the metro to redesign frequencies to “respond to growing demand, especially around noon on a weekday.” The new service will come into effect on January 13.
Similarly, and within the same time slot, the passage interval of trains bound for Ibarbengoa and Kabieezes will improve from 6 minutes to 5.
