Now an investigation is underway: a Boeing aircraft part was found that made an emergency landing

Date:

The cabin part of a Boeing 737 Max that was torn off during a flight in the US has now been found. A teacher in Portland discovered the crashed plane part in his yard. The authority will now investigate, it was announced at a press conference on Monday.

It is installed in the place where the manufacturer has planned an emergency exit. Jennifer Homendy of the US Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said a warning light had flashed on the plane on three previous flights. The lamp indicated the failure of the automatic pressure equalization system. However, these were “harmless” incidents that were reported and monitored. It is also not known whether there is a connection between lighting the lamp and the demolition of the cabin part.

After the warnings, the Alaska Airlines plane was no longer used on ocean routes to Hawaii. This should allow the aircraft to quickly return to an airport when the lights come back on.

Passengers: “Big Bang”
As reported on Friday, shortly after the Boeing 737 Max took off from Portland (US state of Oregon), a cabin part including a window came loose (see video above). It flew away and passengers reported a big bang. Air then flowed in through the hole. The airline said the plane returned to Portland and landed safely.

Of the 171 passengers in total – the seat directly next to the window was empty – no one was seriously injured in the incident. The Alaska Airlines flight was scheduled to go to Ontario, California. The American aviation authority FAA subsequently ordered a temporary take-off ban for more than 170 aircraft of the same aircraft type.
