Protest in Germany – Elon Musk supports the farmers’ uprising

Date:

The farmer protests across Germany against subsidy cuts are taking place not only on the streets (see video above), but also on social media. There, nationalist, right-wing extremist and conspiracy ideological actors are intensively trying to exploit the movement politically. Company boss Elon Musk is following the information war on X (formerly Twitter) and Co. apparently with great interest and supports farmers!

The right-wing extremist self-proclaimed journalist Peter Imanuelsen asked the following question on X on Monday: “Thousands of German farmers have arrived in Berlin to protest against planned tax increases. Do you support farmers?” One of the many messages of support was from Musk (see below).

Musk as an advocate for Dutch farmers
Musk had already expressed his sympathy for farmers in the past when he expressed solidarity with Dutch farmers in May, who are also plagued by fear for their survival. The Tesla boss said about X at the time: “Dutch farmers are incredibly skilled – they have the highest productivity and most efficient agriculture in the world!”

The German Farmers’ Association has called for a week of action to demonstrate against the abolition of subsidies for the industry. The main issue is the tax credit for agricultural diesel. The fact that the government in Berlin has withdrawn some of its austerity plans is not enough for the association. After an escalated protest against Economic Affairs Minister Habeck at the North Sea, the farmers’ association also called on its supporters to exercise moderation this weekend and called for avoiding actions in front of politicians’ houses and personal hostilities.
