The story of little Ronja moved the readers of “Krone”. They donated almost 42,000 euros for the five-year-old girl.
Four entrepreneurs from Tennengau took the initiative and people opened their hearts. The fate of five-year-old Ronja van Adnet left no one unmoved.
The girl has a benign fat cell tumor in her spinal cord. Ronja cannot eat or talk herself. Her arms are numb and she cannot sit or stand on her own. Her parents also have to feed Ronja with a syringe through a stomach tube.
Help knew no boundaries
The Adneters Hermann Fuschlberger, Norbert Stadler, Robert Schnöll and Berthold Ziller started the relief campaign “A Thousand Lights for Ronja”.
Together with the ‘crown’ they asked for donations: no less than 36,326 euros went to Ronja’s account. In addition, there is almost 6,000 euros in cash. “It’s just unbelievable, I’m at a loss for words,” says Ronja’s mother Michaela Laabmayr. She never expected such a willingness to help. “It went far beyond the boundaries of Adnet and was overwhelming.”
What will the family use the money raised for? “Our house must be barrier-free. We need a new bathroom and a ramp at the entrance,” says Laabmayr. There is also an urgent need for a new, larger car. “Ronja’s special equipment is extensive; they barely fit in a station wagon.”
Ronja should be able to stand soon
The family also wants to make a sincere wish come true. With the help of a special standing stand that costs almost 10,000 euros, Ronja should be able to stand upright without assistance. “This will be so good for her,” Ronja’s parents emphasize in unison.
